Cygnus is a northern constellation; deriving its name from the Greek word for swan. Cygnus is one of the most recognizable constellations in the Milky Way and home of Deneb, the brightest star. In Greek mythology, Zeus disguised himself as a swan to seduce Leda. The gods were so touched that they turned him into a swan and placed him among the stars.
